The practice of Reiki offers a gentle and non-invasive method of healing. Reiki is a Japanese word that means life-force energy. Reiki is a practical system of managing energy for physical and emotional wellbeing, for human and animal beings. Energy is a universally present property. Energy healing is as ancient as humankind, practiced by people and cultures around the world.
Energy and energy healing belongs to everyone and to no-one.
Reiki works by acknowledging and supporting the energy that is innate in all beings. The Reiki practitioner is a conduit for pure energy, which is intelligent, self-directing, and impossible to overdose. The practitioner’s duty is to activate the flow of energy if it has been interrupted or is dull or unbalanced. An interruption in flow can be caused by many things, including environmental factors, change in daily routines or shelter, social (human or herd) interactions, physical injury, a physiological condition or disease, psychological trauma (acute or residual). The practitioner invites energy flow without demanding a specific result. Energy has its own intelligence—when stimulated it goes where it is needed. The practitioner can intuit areas of the physical or subtle body that call for attention and can invite healing to those areas, but energy is autonomous and its flow is organic. Energy, like water, will find its own level.
